But then Jeremy Saunders was no scholar, not even a mildly bright light. In fact, he was as dumb as a post. Still, he should have known by now that Mr. Stone was a patrolling teacher, one of those who strolled around the room looking for trouble. Arthur Stone carried a yardstick and walked up and down the aisles, twirling the stick when he could, tapping it on desktops, pointing out things on the bulletin boards.
